First, identify which problem you actually have

“No traffic” is often used to describe four different problems. They need different fixes.

What you seeLikely problemWhat to check first
No pages appear for a site: searchDiscovery or indexingSearch Console, robots.txt, canonical tags, sitemap
Pages are indexed but impressions are near zeroWeak demand match or authorityQueries, service-page focus, useful supporting content

Being live and being discoverable are different

Google can only consider pages it can find, crawl, and index. A technically accessible site clears the entry requirement; it does not automatically deserve a useful position. Search engines still need clear page topics, internal links, evidence that the business is real, and content that answers the buyer better than competing pages.

Start with Google Search Console. Confirm that the important pages are indexed, inspect any excluded URLs, submit the sitemap, and look at the actual queries producing impressions. Do not diagnose a ranking problem before proving the page is eligible to rank.

Your service pages need to answer buying questions

A thin page that says “we offer quality solutions” gives search engines and buyers almost nothing to work with. A useful service page explains the outcome, who the service is for, what is included, price or price drivers, process, timing, evidence, limitations, and the next step.

This also helps answer engines. Google’s current guidance says useful, original content and normal SEO foundations matter more than special AEO markup. Clear answers are valuable because people can understand them—not because they exploit a secret format.

SEO and Google Ads solve different timing problems

SEO compounds

It takes longer because visibility has to be earned, but strong pages can keep attracting qualified searches without paying for every click.

Google Ads creates traffic now

It can put the offer in front of active buyers quickly, but every visit has a cost and weak tracking makes that cost impossible to judge.

Use the SEO vs Google Ads decision guide if you are deciding where the next marketing dollar should go.

Fix conversion before scaling traffic

If one in 200 visitors becomes an enquiry, doubling traffic doubles the bill as well as the leads. Improving the page to convert one in 50 visitors creates four times as many enquiries from the same traffic. Use the website lead calculator to model the difference with your own numbers.

A practical order of operations

  1. Measure: confirm indexing, current traffic, enquiries, and the pages that produce them.
  2. Repair: fix technical blockers, unclear offers, broken forms, and slow pages.
  3. Focus: create one strong page for each service or buyer problem instead of dozens of shallow pages.
  4. Distribute: use SEO for compounding visibility and Google Ads when immediate demand matters.
  5. Review: judge channels by qualified enquiries and customers, not traffic alone.
